Once you have placed your order, our forest manager plans your plantation and you will receive your Timberland Futures Plantation Packet. This packet includes a copy of your signed contract, plot maps delineated with GPS co-ordinates, your land ownership agreement, timeline information, login credentials for your online account and additional documentation. Meanwhile, we will be preparing your trees for planting.

Our horticulturalists germinate your seeds and grow them in a greenhouse under optimal conditions. For best results, Melina trees are planted during dry intervals to give them time to take root and grow before the rains begin.

During the planting process, each individual tree is assigned a tracking number. Each year, you’ll receive an annual report with vital statistics about the each tree in your plantation, including growth rates (height and diameter), pruning updates, or harvest reports if applicable.
During harvest years, our forest engineers thin your stock to allow more sunlight for stronger trees to grow. Stock from the thinning harvests will be sold primarily as pulp and for use in shipping crates, construction forms and plywood. Stock from the final harvest is cut into lumber and cured on the premises, then sold internationally.
